Pancharevo Trail Marathon

Pancharevo Trail Marathon is Bulgaria’s largest spring mountain running event, held near Pancharevo Lake. The race offers three distances: a 42 km marathon with 1,700 m of elevation gain, a 21 km half marathon with 700 m of elevation gain, and a beginner-friendly 10 km race, as well as a 15 km mountain hike. The courses pass through the scenic Lozen Mountain, with views of Vitosha, the Balkan Mountains, Rila, and Iskar Reservoir. The event is organized by Begach Sports Club and attracts more participants every year.

Race kits can be collected on the Thursday and Friday before the race in Sofia. There are aid stations and medical assistance along the courses. The race provides no cups, so participants must bring their own bottle or cup for water. A bag drop is available, but the organizers are not responsible for lost belongings. Free parking is available in Pancharevo. Medical teams are stationed at the start, Pasarel, and Lalina Mogila. Participants must wear their race bib on their chest or abdomen.
