Musala Extreme

Musala Extreme is a challenging mountain race in Borovets, Bulgaria, with a distance of 38 km and 2200 meters of elevation gain. The course passes through peaks such as Yastrebets, Aleko, Lyudmil Yankov, Musala, and Mancho, offering impressive views of Rila, Pirin, Vitosha, and Stara Planina. The race requires technical skills to navigate rocky and steep sections, combining strength, speed, and attention. A shorter race, Yastrebets Trail Run, with a distance of 16 km and 1000 meters of elevation gain, is held simultaneously, suitable for runners seeking an easier route. Organizers also offer team running and a duathlon with cycling the following day.

Start and finish at the track in front of Rila Hotel. Distribution of race packets the evening before the race and on the morning of the start. Awards ceremony after each race distance. Opportunity to participate in team running and a duathlon with cycling the next day. The course is 38 km long with 2200 meters of elevation gain, including ascent to Musala Peak and passing through mountain shelters and trails. Registration deadline is August 10. The race supports initiatives for vegetation restoration.
