Balkaniada West

Balkaniada West is a mountain race taking place on August 2, 2026, starting at 06:00 AM. The race includes several distances of varying lengths and positive elevation gain, with routes passing through scenic mountain areas around the Gorski Ray hut. The event has a limited number of participants and requires prior approval of registration applications. Organizers provide transportation, overnight stays, food, and branded clothing for those who finish within the control time.

The race is limited to 30 participants (for the first edition). You must have completed races with control times from 2025 or provide evidence of similar achievements. Organized transportation is available from Sofia to Kom hut and from Kom hut to Chuprene village. Accommodation, dinner, and breakfast are included at the Kom and Gorski Ray huts. Every finisher receives branded clothing. The event includes a prologue, organized transportation, overnight stays, breakfasts, and branded clothing for finishers. Participation is limited to 30, with selection based on experience.
