Race description
The Balkan Ultra is a challenging mountain race held in the area of Pleven Hut, Apriltsi. The routes include technical sections with significant elevation gain and require good physical fitness and mountaineering skills. Participants can choose between two main distances - Sky and Ultra, each with a unique route through beautiful and difficult mountain terrains. The race offers stunning views and diverse trails, including crossing peaks such as Botev and the Milk Chute.

Additional information
Participants in the Ultra distance must have valid mountain insurance and have completed two races with at least 4000 meters of elevation gain in the last 3 years. For the Sky distance, participation is free. A GPS device is mandatory for navigation along the provided GPS track. There are control points with cut-off times, for example at Petolachka - 10 hours. The routes include technical sections; options for accommodation include Pleven Hut, camping, or Apriltsi; the race length is approximately 78 km, with a record under 13 hours.
